President Donald Trump signed the following Executive Orders:
Congress
The Senate confirmed former Florida Attorney General and lobbyist Pam Bondi to serve as US Attorney in a 54-46 vote on Tuesday. Bondi will head the Justice Department and oversee its agencies including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Drug Enforcement Administration, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, United States Marshals Service, and others. In 2020, Bondi was one of Trump’s defense lawyers during his first impeachment trial.
Also on Tuesday, the Senate confirmed Doug Collins to serve as Secretary of Veterans Affairs in a 77-23 vote. Collins, an Air Force veteran and lawyer, previously served as representative for Georgia’s 9th congressional district from 2013-2021.
