The Senate confirmed engineer and businessman Chris Wright to serve as Secretary of Energy in a 59-38 vote on Monday. Wright is the CEO of Liberty Energy, a hydraulic fracturing company, and has served on multiple boards, including Oklo Inc., a nuclear technology company, and the Denver Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. He will oversee the Department of Energy, which guides national energy policy, energy production, the nuclear weapons program, and other areas.
